R44 Helicopter Flight in Cambridgeshire (60 minutes)

Imagine the excitement of flying a large helicopter for the first time! This is an experience you'll remember forever, as you become a helicopter pilot for the day! At this long-running school a 60 minute lesson includes a briefing, a helicopter flight in an R44 and the chance to take the helicopter's controls mid-air. When you land you will be able to legitimately claim that you've flown a (big) chopper! Not bad for an hour's work.

Arrive at the venue and be greeted by your highly experienced instructor. You will first receive a briefing on helicopter flight, the machine itself and also on safety. Then it's over to the chopper, where your instructor will take off and demonstrate the R44's capabilities. You will be given the chance to take the controls under close supervision from your instructor. If you're not confident to do this, you can always sit back and enjoy the ride. Your instructor will land the craft at the end of your 60-minute experience.

Your voucher is valid for ten months. You are free to contact the operator and arrange a time for your experience. Your weight must not exceed 17 stone and your height must not exceed 6ft 4inches. Minimum age is 12 years (with written parental consent necessary up to 18 years).Tuition is in a Robinson R44. Actual flying time is around 55 mins. All training helicopters have dual controls so the instructor can safely demonstrate and monitor the handling of the aircraft. All flight time counts towards a helicopter licence should you decide to continue training. Please book well in advance to ensure a mutually convenient time.
