About the experience
A restored 1940s Tiger Moth biplane awaits departure with you on board for this excellent 60 Minute Vintage Flying Experience! Heading to Eshott Airfield based in Morpeth, you’ll be meeting Darren and Dave, the proud owners of G-EMSY, a vintage 1940s DH82a Tiger Moth. First built in 1940, and used by trainee WWII pilots at nearby RAF Luffenham, it’s had an interesting history since then, with time spent abroad in Germany and Belgium, the latter of which being where it was discovered in a barn in 1991. She was gradually restored to her full glory by the year 2000, and has flown under Darren and Dave’s ownership ever since. With them, you’ll get to choose exactly which flight path you take on your flight that takes in the spectacular scenery around the Northumbrian coast and countryside. And as you’ll be sat in the passenger seat, the excitement will really build as the propeller is swung and you take off into the skies above Northumberland!

Information
- Minimum age 14
- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Maximum weight 18 stone
- Participants must sign a declaration prior to flying
- Friends and family are welcome to watch your take off and landing from the viewing area
- The airfield is dog friendly, but all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times
- Weekdays and weekend throughout the year
- Flight experiences are subject to availability and weather conditions
- If weather conditions are unsuitable your flight will be rescheduled
- Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear should be worn
- Light snacks and refreshments can be purchased from the onsite café (open Thursday to Sunday) or pre-book a delicious afternoon tea
