Similar to helicopters, they have a rotor blade above the head and a blade behind the seats. These superlight aircraft have a maximum takeoff weight of 500kg. Evolved since their first flight in 1923, the MTO Sport gyrocopter available at Beccles Airfield is a marvel of design, offering exceptional comfort and functionality. Strap into your race car-style seat, communicate with your instructor/pilot through a headset, and get ready for an extraordinary flying experience in the completely open cockpit while dressed in a flying suit. During your gyrocopter flight over the breathtaking East Anglia countryside, you'll not only look the part but also have the opportunity to take control and pilot the gyrocopter. - Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Maximum weight: 15 stone
- Participants must be agile enough to get in and out of the gyrocopter
- Flights are generally available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, along with weekends throughout the year
- All flights are subject to availability and weather conditions
