What is a Microlight?
A Microlight is an aeroplane which carries no more than two people. Better known as “Ultralights” in other countries, these fascinating aircrafts have developed into a fantastic machine, becoming more and more sophisticated. With a flex-wing and a 'trike' unit below, it is just like a small aircraft. They are absolutely great fun to fly and perfectly safe!
What to Expect from a Microlight Experience
As with any of our fantastic flying experiences, you can expect glorious views and a thrilling feeling of excitement! But with a Microlight, due to your open cockpit and just a seat between you and the air, it gives a sensational thrill. Although not having the comfort of being inside a normal aeroplane, the Microlight will give you an experience to remember, something a bit different to the ordinary flying experience – perfect for the person who likes stepping out of their comfort zone.
On the Day
Your Microlight flying experience is packed with plenty to learn and do. If you feel like you will be unprepared for the fascinating day ahead, then think again, as you will be fully briefed on the Microlight, including principles of flying, familiarisation of flying the aircraft and an overview of the controls – you will be taught by fully trained professionals so you will be in safe hands and be taught everything you need to know.
Once you have been taught about the aircraft, prepare to take to the skies in a thrilling flying experience. Have the chance to take the controls yourself and feel like a real pilot. Microlight flying experiences make for an unbelievable day out. For something similar we recommend browsing our gliding experiences which are a very popular choice.
Terms and Conditions for Microlighting Experiences
Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.
Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).
In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
