Although the base has a long history of pleasure flights dating back to the 1950s, in more recent years it has played a pivotal role as a base for services to gas platforms in the Southern North Sea. However, it was closed in 2015 as the helicopter operator CHC started flying from Norwich airport.
Despite a bumpy history, you’ll be pleased to know that earlier this year it reopened as an aviation school offering a variety of flights over the beautiful coastline of East Anglia.
