Chalgrove Airfield has a rich history as an RAF airfield during World War II, serving both the Royal Air Force and the US Army Air Forces. After the war, Martin-Baker leased it in July 1946 and it became a center for testing and developing ejector seats.Situated just a short half-hour journey from the historic city of Oxford, Chalgrove Airfield is more than just a relic of the past. Two of the original T2 hangars from WWII are still in use, and the runways and perimeter track are still intact. Today, the airfield is home to Oxford Helipad, providing a convenient base for a variety of helicopter rides and pleasure flights.
