Sutton Meadows Airfield Flying Experiences
With its three runways and open approaches in all directions, Sutton Meadows proves to be a delight for flying enthusiasts, both arriving and departing. Boasting an excellent safety record, the airfield primarily caters to Microlight Flying, extending a warm welcome to visitors and residents alike, along with all types of light aircraft.
Microlighting Experiences at Sutton Meadows
Operated by the Cambridge Microlight Club, the team orchestrates a myriad of activities, including regular flyouts, lessons, and more, ensuring a vibrant and engaging experience for all involved. David, the main instructor began flying at the age of eight, obtained his licence as soon as he could at 17, and started instructing in 2002. He is a fully recognised British and World microlight champion. He won the silver medal in the European and World Microlight Championships in 2004, 2005, and 2007, and the gold in 2015. The club facilities have refreshments available, and overnight camping is welcomed.
The Cambridgeshire Microlight Club stands as a social hub for pilots and enthusiasts nestled within Sutton Meadows. With approximately 40 members at any given time, most of whom are active pilots, the club epitomises a vibrant community united by a passion for aviation. From lightweight foot-launched powered parachutes to advanced composite aircraft, including flexwing microlights, fixed-wing microlights, and hang gliders, the club covers a wide spectrum of light recreational flying activities, fostering camaraderie and adventure among its members.

Flying in the East of England
Flight experiences in the East of England offer breathtaking views of cathedrals, National Trust sites, and miles of green countryside, all from a whole new perspective. These experiences are perfect for all ages and interests. If you're passionate about aviation history, we recommend one of our Vintage Flying Experiences. Terms and Conditions for Sutton Meadows Airfield
Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.
Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).
In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
