Learning to Fly a Plane in Wales

What springs to mind when you think of Wales? The beautiful National Parks of the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia? Majestic mountains and sweeping valleys? There are few better ways to explore these stunning corners of the country than from many thousands of feet up in the air.

In fact, if you've always had an itching ambition to learn how to fly a fixed wing aircraft like an aeroplane for yourself, then our variety of Aeroplane Flying Lesson packages are just what you may be looking for.

Under the guidance of a CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) qualified instructor, you'll get the opportunity to learn and master, over a 30 or 60 minute lesson, the basics of piloting and taking the controls on a two-seater aeroplane.

Best of all, however long your lesson is that you choose, it also counts towards the experience needed to obtain your Private Pilot's Licence, so who knows? It could well be investment in a promising future aviation hobby or career.

Or for those looking for something more to ignite the daredevil in you, our Skydiving Experiences, which will see you freefall from heights of up to 2,000 ft and descend to the ground in a parachute either in a Tandem or Static Line, will certainly satisfy those with a taste for flying experiences that are not for the faint hearted!

Where Can I Go on a Flying Day or Experience from in Wales?

It will come as no surprise to tell you that two of our most popular venues for flying days and experiences are in good proximity to Wales' two foremost cities - its capital, Cardiff Airport, and also Swansea Airport. The latter's airport is also well located with access to the stunning Gower Park, a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Further north in the country, there's the opportunity to get airborne over the Snowdonia National Park, with a range of exciting flying lessons available at Caernarfon Airport, which is also home to the Airworld Aviation Museum, whilst nestled in Pembrokeshire is the former RAF World War II base of Haverfordwest Airport.
