The training centre features the Robinson R22, a two-seater helicopter that you’ll be flying. Leeds Heliport’s location is ideal, with the neighbouring Leeds Bradford International Airport sitting 681 feet above sea level, guaranteeing panoramic views over the countryside. Once airborne, you'll catch glimpses of Yeadon Tarn, Otley Chevin Forest Park, and the Horsforth and Rawdon golf clubs. After learning the basic controls during your ground briefing, you'll have plenty of time to get to grips with piloting the helicopter. My partner bought this for my 63rd birthday. The booking process was easy and the guys managed to organise it for my actual birthday whichwas on one of the hottest days of the year so far so they took the doors off more on that later. When we arrived the reception staff were friendly and professional the check in process was easy and fast. We met my instructor, who was funny friendly and obviously as excited as I was to fly. We took off and flew over the Emmerdale set, the river Warf and a country house cant remember which one at the moment. Having the doors off was amazing the wind through the cock pit and the uninterrupted views were just wow My instructor was full of information about the area and his job as a rescue pilot. We went back to the landing area and just before landing I was allowed to have a go at the controls which I made a complete hash of. I was buzzing for the rest of the week and told all my friends about it. All I all it was a fantastic experience, the company was top notch and I would highly recommend them. Thank you guys for making my birthday extra special.
