About the experience

An exclusive Dambuster flight in a top-spec, executive helicopter for six passengers! We are offering vouchers for 20-minute tours from various take off points around the Peak District to follow in the flight path of 617 Squadron. And of course, it’ll just be your private group and the pilot in the helicopter. The voucher price is for up to six passengers and you can invite fewer people if you wish - perhaps for that ultimate romantic gesture! On this 20-minute Dambuster flight, your helicopter departure point is Moor Farm near Buxton. Your flight path will most likely include Chatsworth House and the wild and wonderful Mam Tor on your way over to the famous Derwent Dam. Reaching the wonderfully picturesque Hope Valley, you will soon spot the twin-towered Derwent Dam, which stands proud at the southern end of Derwent Reservoir (it's Hawden Dam at the northern end!). The views are incredible from the air, especially if the water is cascading over… Just take a moment to drink in those views, whilst thinking what it must have been like for those young pilots flying low-level over the dam, practising with the ‘bouncing bombs’ ready for that incredible mission in 1943 to the German Ruhr. All is peaceful around Derwent today and you will see hikers and sheep around the reservoir, rather than WW2 aircraft on Dambuster practice missions!

  • Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety, along with the comfort of fellow passengers
  • You must enter the passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and the date of flight experience, it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
  • All passengers will be weighed before flight, and if a disparity exists between the weight disclosed and the actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be eligible to fly

Please Note:

  • The maximum weight limit for the Co-Pilot Seat on a helicopter pleasure flight varies depending on aircraft and other operational considerations, but will not exceed 95kg
  • If, as a party of one, you weigh in excess of 15 stone, you may still be able to fly; however, you will need to purchase an additional seat. This seat will either remain unoccupied or can be occupied by an individual, as long as the combined total listed above is not exceeded. However, a total individual weight of 21.5 stone cannot be exceeded
