About the experience

Now is your opportunity to enjoy a 20 minute flight in a vintage Tiger Moth biplane from Dunkeswell Aerodrome, that is steeped in history in more ways than one. First there's the Tiger Moths themselves, which are two fully and faithfully restored models that are in the fleet of aircraft at this site, one dating from 1939 and the other from 1941. Then there's Dunkeswell itself, which was first opened as a naval RAF base in 1943, sitting 839ft above sea level in the Blackdown Hills. Your flight path from here, under a qualified and experienced Tiger Moth instructor, will take you to the site of the Wellington Monument, the formidable three-sided obelisk that was built in memory of the Duke of Wellington to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Overall, it's the ideal flying experience for both vintage aviation and general history enthusiasts!

  • Fly in a vintage tiger moth with a fully trained and experienced pilot
  • Flight times quoted are airborne times to ensure the best experience and do not include taxiing etc

I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge thank you for your generosity and kindness in giving me the opportunity to experience a flight in your wonderful Tiger Moth on Monday.It was a total suprise but a fabulous one which I will remember forever. Rob and his team gave a brilliant experience of flying a Tiger Moth. Communication prior to the flights was excellent. When I arrived, everything was explained clearly, and I had a truly memorable flight. The views ere amazing and the pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable. An thoroughly awesome experience

I cannot recommend Tiger Moth Flights at Dunkeswell highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.
