- The team above all…fans of The Magpies, Newcastle United, flew high above their Premier League rivals to steal FlyDays.co.uk's Football Stadium Tours treasured title
- Manchester United fans also let fly as Old Trafford stadium tours finished runner up
- Tottenham Hotspur relegated! Tours over Spurs' all new state of the art stadium proved popular, but not enough to avoid a relegation spot
Here at FlyDays, we're presenting an alternative to the usual league standings ahead of the new football season, as we reveal which of our Helicopter Football Stadium Tours hit the back of the net among footy fanatics last season.
Perhaps surprisingly, fans of Newcastle United won this coveted prize as the Toon Army faithful celebrated the club's multimillion pound take over, by catching an aerial view of the magnificent St James' Park via our Ultimate Newcastle United Fan Package for One. In fact, such was the popularity of the package, in the last 18 months, bookings for the package have actually doubled in sales year-on-year.
Dan Jones, operations manager at FlyDays.co.uk, commented: "The football season is just around the corner, meaning fans up and down the country are debating which clubs they think will claim glory. However, our unique league table is a different way to secure bragging rights over rival fans, and a great way to prove which fans have quite literally taken the support for their club to new heights!"
"Our booking data has revealed that fans of The Magpies knocked the big boys off their perch by claiming our Helicopter Stadium Tour Championship, as they soared high above Newcastle's stunning skyline. Who knows, our league table may even forecast Newcastle United's long-awaited success as the club enters an exciting new era under new ownership!"
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans bagged the runner up spot, as followers of The Red Devils went up, up and away to catch a unique look at the magnificent 'Theatre of Dreams', Old Trafford.
There was another twist in the league standings, as Champions League giants Tottenham Hotspur actually finished rock bottom of the league, despite recently moving into a state of the art 60,000 seater stadium.
Dan concluded: "Although Tottenham Hotspur finished bottom of our league table, we would not count on the North London titans facing relegation come the end of the Premier League season next May – especially with England ace Harry Kane in the team's ranks!"
Typically, a helicopter football stadium tour involves a 30 mile flight, the highlight of which is flying over the football stadium and seeing it from a completely new perspective high above.
