There’s no denying that the lockdown was challenging for everyone, us here at FlyDays included. But if you’re looking for confirmation that things have been gradually picking up again for flying days and experiences, a skydiving centre reopening in Nottinghamshire is one of them.
A news report this week has highlighted the success of Skydive Langar, based in the Vale of Belvoir, which has been able to prepare and get fully COVID secure to welcome visitors back to their site since July, in line with the easing of restrictions by the UK Government.
Such has been the popularity of the centre’s reopening, which has been running since 1977, that they have seen an increase of 20% in new participants compared to recent years, which is a fantastic result.
Skydive Langar is also the home of the British skydiving team Chimera, who are set to represent Team GB at the Skydiving World Championships in Russia in July next year, so it has proved to be a vital training facility for them also.
