Challock Airfield Information

Established in 1963, Challock Airfield is set utop of the north downs surrounded by lush countryside. its home to the wonderful Kent Gliding centre and a fleet of beautiful gliders, as well as many great facilities including a modern clubhouse, administration office, briefing room, bar, comfortable accommodation and parking. With a maintenance facility on site, hangars, trailer parking and caravan pitches - Challock is a great way to spend a family fun weekend in kent!

Gliding Lessons

Gliding Lessons at Challock Airfield, offered by one of the UK's oldest and most respected gliding clubs, provide an exceptional experience for both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts. Led by passionate and highly experienced instructors, each lesson is tailored to ensure a safe, educational, and thrilling flight. As you soar above the stunning Kent countryside, you'll enjoy breathtaking views over Ashford and beyond.
Students have the opportunity to try out different gliding methods, from winch launches to aerators, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of gliding. Lessons range in duration, with options for an immersive full-day experience, a comprehensive half-day session, or a concise one-hour introduction, allowing flexibility to suit your schedule and interest level. Whether you're aiming to master the art of gliding or simply want to experience the exhilaration of unpowered flight, Challock Airfield offers an unforgettable adventure in a truly picturesque setting.

Terms and Conditions for Challock Airfield Gliding

Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.

Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).

In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
