The Microlight Flight School at Darley Moor Airfield is said to be one of the most recognised flying schools in the UK. Sat on a hilltop and overlooking a large area of natural beauty ("the gateway to the Peak District National Park"), the airfield is ideal for a Microlight Flight Experience. Darley Moor Airfield Flying Experiences

Lying south east of Derby and Nottingham, and north west of Stoke-on-Trent, Darley Moor Airfield in Derbyshire has certainly had a rich and varied history over the last 80 years or so. With spectacular views overlooking the gateway to the Peak District National Park, its roots of origin lie back in World War II, used by the Royal Air Force for training purposes by the No. 42 Operational Training Unit.

The airfield these days is best known for as a general aviation airfield, but also as a motorsport venue and farmland.

Microlight Flying Experiences

For those who enjoy the lighter side of flying in the form of Microlighting, the airfield offers ample opportunities for budding pilot to take flight in a flexwing or fixed-wing microlight, on sessions that are run by the airfields microlight school, and which are recognised and approved by the British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA).

Session lengths are available in blocks of 20, 30 and 60 minutes, and start from as little as £79 - making them a great value option for those looking for a Flying Experience in the East Midlands!

Terms and Conditions for Darley Moor Airfield

Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.

Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).

Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract.
