About the experience

You and a family member, friend or loved one can take in the World Heritage Site and historic city of Bath as you never have before on this Helicopter ride experience for two, taking flight over its skyline and surrounding areas from the Bath and West Showground! Famed for its many Roman and Georgian buildings, architecture and landmarks, there's no better way than to discover them all, including the renowned townhouses and the breathtaking Pulteney Bridge from the air. A perfect experience to enjoy together, this would be particularly good for those with an interest in history - or even those who are fans of the Netflix series Bridgerton, which uses the city as its backdrop!

  • Welcome, safety briefing and introduction by your helicopter pilot
  • Flights are generally taken in a Bell 206 JetRanger helicopter accommodating up to 4 participants

The Bath Skyline and Georgian City Experience

  • Flight lasting approximately 20-30 minutes
  • The route heads north out of the Shepton Mallet area and into the countryside between the Mendips and Bath. As it reaches the first turning point east of the city, the main set-piece becomes Bath itself, sitting in the River Avon valley and framed by the surrounding skyline hills
  • Bath is a rare double-inscribed World Heritage Site, and its city layout, Georgian terraces and historic core are the obvious visual focus of this tour
  • You are likely to see Bath Abbey, the curve of the Royal Crescent, and Pulteney Bridge over the River Avon, The wider skyline around Bath is also a major part of the view, with the National Trust’s Bath Skyline and Little Solsbury Hill giving the city its bowl-like setting
  • On the southern and south-eastern side of Bath, Prior Park Landscape Garden is also a good supporting feature, especially its Palladian Bridge, which the National Trust describes as one of only four of its kind in the world

  • Typically flights take place at least one weekend day per month, with occasional weekdays from April to October

  • Passengers must arrive 20 minutes prior to their flight time
  • Tour routes can vary due to change due to weather conditions and air traffic control
  • Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety along with the comfort of fellow passengers
  • You must enter passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and date of flight experience it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
  • All passengers will be weighed before flight and if disparity exists between weight disclosed and actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be eligible to fly

Helicopter Pleasure Flights:

  • Group size of One – Max 15 Stone (95kg)
  • Group size of Two – Max 30 Stone (190kg)
  • Group size of Three – Max 43 Stone (273kg)
  • Group size of Four – Max 56 Stone (355kg)
  • Please note that the maximum weight limit for the Co Pilot Seat on a helicopter pleasure flight varies depending on aircraft and other operational considerations but will not exceed 95kg
  • If as a party of one you weigh in excess of 15 stone, you may still be able to fly however you will need to purchase an additional seat. This seat will either have to remain unoccupied or can be occupied by an individual as long as the combined total as listed above is not exceeded. However, a total individual weight of 21.5 stone cannot be exceeded
  • Please note that once your booking is confirmed, the provider's terms and conditions will apply. In the event of postponements due to weather and/or operational issues your flight will be rescheduled

First rate experience. The staff were pleasant, courteous and wanted us to enjoy the experience. The trip took 25 minutes and the pilot allowed the people in each side of the helicopter to see all the views so that noone missed anything of Bath and Bristol.

All round excellent. It was easy to book, and the staff helped when I had a question. On the day, the venue parking wasnt ideal, but wasnt difficult to sort out and didnt dampen the experience. Everyone we dealt with was nice and helpful. The experience itself was brilliant. We got lucky with the weather but despite being worried the time would flash by, it was actually enough. All round excellent day.

Everything worked wonderfully Booking was easy, the departure point had plenty of parking and a great place to have coffee afterwards. The pilot was super nice as was the people on the ground. Totally recommend
