About the experience

Prepare to take flight from the Bath and West Showground on this exciting helicopter sightseeing flight of the South West for one! And once you're up and away, you'll get to see Somerset and the surrounding landscape as you never have before. You'll first head off in the direction of the Mendip Hills towards Cheddar Gorge, and its world famous caves that are over 9,000 years old, as well as being voted the second greatest natural wonder in Great Britain, heading further west as you take in the grand spires of Wells Cathedral. This helicopter ride is certainly one of the best ways to enjoy this beautiful corner of the country from a whole new perspective!

  • Welcome, safety briefing and introduction by your helicopter pilot
  • Flights are generally taken in a Bell 206 JetRanger helicopter accommodating up to 4 participants

  • Flights depart from Royal Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet

  • Passengers must arrive 20 minutes prior to their flight time
  • Tour routes can vary due to change due to weather conditions and air traffic control
  • Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety along with the comfort of fellow passengers
  • You must enter passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and date of flight experience it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
  • All passengers will be weighed before flight and if disparity exists between weight disclosed and actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be eligible to fly

Helicopter Pleasure Flights:

  • Group size of One – Max 15 Stone (95kg)
  • Group size of Two – Max 30 Stone (190kg)
  • Group size of Three – Max 43 Stone (273kg)
  • Group size of Four – Max 56 Stone (355kg)
  • Please note that the maximum weight limit for the Co Pilot Seat on a helicopter pleasure flight varies depending on aircraft and other operational considerations but will not exceed 95kg
  • If as a party of one you weigh in excess of 15 stone, you may still be able to fly however you will need to purchase an additional seat. This seat will either have to remain unoccupied or can be occupied by an individual as long as the combined total as listed above is not exceeded. However, a total individual weight of 21.5 stone cannot be exceeded
  • Please note that once your booking is confirmed, the provider's terms and conditions will apply. In the event of postponements due to weather and/or operational issues your flight will be rescheduled

First rate experience. The staff were pleasant, courteous and wanted us to enjoy the experience. The trip took 25 minutes and the pilot allowed the people in each side of the helicopter to see all the views so that noone missed anything of Bath and Bristol.

All round excellent. It was easy to book, and the staff helped when I had a question. On the day, the venue parking wasnt ideal, but wasnt difficult to sort out and didnt dampen the experience. Everyone we dealt with was nice and helpful. The experience itself was brilliant. We got lucky with the weather but despite being worried the time would flash by, it was actually enough. Everything worked wonderfully Booking was easy, the departure point had plenty of parking and a great place to have coffee afterwards. The pilot was super nice as was the people on the ground. Totally recommend
