Wing Walking Flying Experience - Lincolnshire
About the experience
Go where only the brave fear to tread - or, in this case, fly - with this high octane Wing Walking experience in Lincolnshire! Located on the outskirts of the Lincolnshire Wolds (a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and just under half an hour's drive away from Lincoln itself, your destination for this experience will be Wickenby Aerodrome. Wing walking on the top wing of a genuine vintage biplane, the Boeing Stearman, these exhilarating experiences are run and fully operated by specialists, and so thus meet all the required regulations of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority). And the location of this airfield is within easy reach for those in the immediate surrounding areas including the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and of course, Lincolnshire itself. And with its original 1940s control tower still standing, which is in use as an on-site museum and cafe, it provides the perfect authentic backdrop for a spot of vintage biplane flying with a difference. And that'll also be music to the ears of any spectators you wish to bring along (you can have up to 50 friends and family in attendance on the day). Some are more brave than others on top of the wing - whether they just opt for a wave or two (which itself is a tricky task with the high speeds and wind resistance) whilst others put their arms and legs fully aloft. Either way, it promises to be a day up in the air unlike any other you'll have done before!
