What is a Glider?
A glider is an aircraft that is heavier than air and is supported during flight by the reaction of air against its lifting surfaces. Unlike other aircraft, it does not depend on an engine to stay in flight so they rely fully on 4 forces: lift, drag, weight and thrust; however gliders do not generate thrust as they have no engine. Gliders must generate lift to oppose its weight. The motion of lift generates drag. When the drag is unopposed, this is when the Glider starts to glide back down to the ground as there is nothing powering it forward.

Gliding Experiences are a fantastic way of seeing the world below you without the annoying drone of an engine, whilst still being in the cockpit so you still feel the part. On the day of your Gliding Experience, you can expect a full safety briefing to ensure that you are up to date with all of the safety precautions for your flight. You will be taught how to fly the glider by a fully trained professional, so if you feel confident enough, you can take to the controls and fly the aircraft yourself!

How To Book A Gliding Experience
Our Gliding Experience packages are available for purchase through open Gift Vouchers. Once you have received the voucher, you can redeem and use it through our Customer Service team.
We will then get in touch with the supplier at the venue, who will contact you directly to confirm and finalise all the details. Afterwards, you are all set to get your wings and explore the world from new heights.
At checkout, we offer additional gift wrap options for a set fee so that you can give a unique gift in style for any special occasion.
Terms and Conditions for Gliding Experiences
Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.
Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).
In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
