At FlyDays, we think it’s widely recognised that witnessing hundreds of colourful balloons floating through the skies is a treat for anyone that gets to witness it. The infamous Turkish Cappadocia has become an iconic destination based purely on the colour from the skies as thousands of balloons take flight!
The question now is, can Yorkshire become the next Cappadocia? Well, maybe not on a regular basis! However, they are seeking to light the Yorkshire skyline with a cascade of Hot Air Balloons, as ambitions to expand Yorkshire’s biggest Balloon festival were revealed last week.
After the initial launch was postponed last week, and rescheduled to May 2021, the opportunity to create the biggest Hot Air Balloon Fiesta the UK has ever seen is in the works.
The September date had previously drawn concern due to the close proximity to the infamous Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon festival, meaning most of the UK enthusiasts would have left for America. However, with this new proposed date, the hope is that more attendees will visit the city and surpass the previous record of 35,000 visitors.
Hopefully the new proposed date will bring superb weather, and as such thousands of new visitors to the beautiful city of York. The success of an event like this could be a catalyst for Flying Experiences, and a big factor in raising awareness about these incredible activities.
Hot Air Balloons have always been a magnificent attraction to thousands of people around the UK, but in recent years, we’ve really seen a surge in popularity in the Balloon experience days.
